Why Does Qimen Dunjia Sometimes Show “No Recommended Direction”?

Sometimes a Qimen Dunjia tool may show “no recommended direction” or suggest trying another time. That does not mean the calculation failed. In Shijia Qimen, there are situations where changing the time is more appropriate than forcing a single direction recommendation.

The hourly chart changes at time boundaries

Shijia Qimen builds the chart from the action time. Near the transition from one hourly chart to another, a difference of only a few minutes can change the Eight Gates, Nine Stars, Eight Deities, and other placements.

A strong conclusion is intentionally avoided near a boundary

Immediately before or after a transition, a small difference between the entered time and the actual departure time could produce another chart. It is safer to move the time slightly and compare again than to strongly recommend one direction.

Solar-term boundaries also deserve caution

The chart’s underlying reference can also change near a solar-term boundary. The closer the time is to the boundary, the more useful it is to leave some margin instead of treating the result as completely fixed.

“No recommendation” is not the same as a bad result

Not receiving a first choice does not mean something bad will definitely happen. It means the current conditions do not support a strong recommendation. If the schedule can move, compare another time; if it cannot, prioritize real-world preparation.

Not forcing a ranking is part of the judgment

A tool could always display first, second, and third place, but doing so would oversimplify situations that deserve caution. Sometimes “try another time” is the more responsible result.
